With the support of Red Bull, a group of skateboarders have built a floating skate park on a 195-foot barge and are cruising down the Mississippi River to promote municipal parks.
The project, dubbed Red Bull Mississippi Grind, began in the Twin Cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul, on Sept. 9 and was scheduled for a 28-day journey.
Demonstrations and competitions with pros athletes and local skaters were scheduled in the ports of Minneapolis, Davenport, Iowa, and St Louis with a finale in New Orleans beginning on Oct. 8.
